Basake Holy Stars have taken over as the leaders of the Division One League Zone Two league table, following a successful protests against Elmina Sharks and Sewfi All Stars, Domesticsportsgh.com can exclusively report.
According to reports, Elmina Sharks were penalized for playing an unqualified player during their matchday 25 league game against Basake Holy Stars at the Ndoum Sports Complex.The match ended in Sharks’ favour with a score of 1-0.
Holy Stars filed a protest against Sharks for fielding an unqualified player, arguing that the player had double registration and lacked the necessary certification to play in that fixture.
Domesticsportsgh.com can report that, Holy Stars’ protest was successful, resulting in them being awarded three points and three goals, while Sharks suffered a six points deduction.
On the other hand, Sefwi All Stars have been reportedly declared losers following their actions and misconduct which put the game to an abrupt end.
This latest development would place Basake Holy Stars at the top of the Zone Two league table with 50 points, while Elmina Sharks would drop to 13th position with 30 points and Sewfi All Stars would remain 8th position with 37 points after 27 games in the 2023/24 season.
The Ghana FA Disciplinary Committee are expected to release the official verdicts before the final games of the season.
