Ghana FA increases prize money of the Ghana Premier League to GHC500,000, which is 70% increases from the previous money ( Ghc300,000) received as prize money by Medeama SC when they won the league last year.

According to the Ghana FA’s release before the commencement of the 2023/24 season, the runners-up will also earn Ghc200,000, while the third-place team is also set to pocket GHC100,000 with the fourth getting GHC80,000.

With the new introduction by the football body, teams who placed fifth and sixth positions would pocket GHC70,000 and GH60,000 respectively.

A total amount of GHC140,000 would be shared among the seventh to tenth teams with GHC10,000 interval from the highest to the lowest.

Samartex expected prize money of GHC500,000 is arguably the biggest prize money received by the Ghana League Champions since its inception in 1958.

Samartex will play their last game of the season at home to Accra Lions on Sunday where they will be officially crowned winners of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League Season.
