Asante Kotoko: Goalkeeper Frederick Asare named new captain

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has announced Frederick Asare as the new club captain, succeeding Ibrahim Danlad, who has departed after his contract ended.

Asare will be supported by midfielder Justice Blay, who has been appointed as the vice-captain. The club’s statement highlighted Asare’s new role and Blay’s support, congratulating both players on their new positions.

Goalkeeper Frederick Asare has been voted as the new skipper of the club, he will be assisted by Justice Blay who came second in the voting exercise.

Asante Kotoko is gearing up for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, currently finishing their pre-season in Cape Coast.

After a 6th-place finish last season with 49 points, the team is aiming for the Premier League title and has strengthened their squad with new talent.

The season will kick off with Asante Kotoko facing Karela United away at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
