Both teams, fresh from their success in the CAF Inter-Club qualifiers, had a tightly contested first half, with goalkeepers Kofi Baah and Ferdinand Sabi making crucial saves to keep the match goalless.
Samartex, buoyed by their enthusiastic supporters, came out stronger after the break.
Their perseverance paid off when striker Emmanuel Mamah capitalised on a cross from Isaac Afful to score the decisive goal.
