Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, says he is happy his team maintained its shape even after conceding a goal against Young Apostles FC.

He said this in a post-game interview after Kotoko drew 1-1 with the Ghana Premier League debutants at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Kotoko’s home venue, the Baba Yara Stadium, has been closed down for renovations after CAF withdrew its approval for the stadium to host international games.

Kotoko conceded in the 51st minute with Daniel Lomotey scoring for Young Apostles FC before Emmanuel Antwi’s long strike in the 76th minute got Kotoko the equalizer.

Among the stand out issues Dr. Ogum identified in the game, he picked out his team’s structure maintenance even after conceding as a “happy point”.

“We saw more of the ball, created more chances, especially in the first half. I think we had a lot of open play chances that we could have converted but then we couldn’t utilize them. The second half they scored and then the dynamics of the game changed but then I was very about one thing.”

Kotoko head coach Dr. Ogum
“When they scored, we didn’t lose our shape, we didn’t lose our structure, we kept to our structure and also we injected a lot of energy into our play, we looked more purposeful, we looked more hungry to equalize and then we equalized.”
