The Chairman of the National Sports Authority, Seth Panwum, has rejected claims that the Black Stars will host their home matches at a neutral venue.

This assurance follows recent reports that the senior national team might need to find an alternative ground for their match against Sudan after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) banned Baba Yara Stadium due to its subpar playing surface.
During a session with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports on Wednesday, Panwum confirmed that the Black Stars will indeed play their home games in Ghana.
He dismissed rumours that the team would be hosting Sudan in Togo for the third matchday of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
“Please disregard reports of Ghana going to play its games in Togo. This committee should not give its attention to media rumours because we have written to CAF to come and check our alternative venues,” he stated.
He further emphasized that all requirements set by CAF have been fulfilled and that inspectors have been invited to evaluate the venues.
“All the things CAF told us to do have been completed, and we have invited their inspectors to assess the venues. I can confidently say that once they approve, the Black Stars will play their home games in Ghana,” he added.
