Former Ghanaian international Emmanuel Agyeman Badu has issued a public apology for supporting Otto Addo’s return as head coach of the Black Stars, following the team’s disappointing performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ghana’s recent 2-0 defeat to Sudan on October 15, has left the team winless after four matches, raising concerns about their chances of qualifying for the tournament.
In an exclusive interview with Onua TV Sports monitored by Domesticsportsgh.com, Agyeman Badu revealed that, he regret for earlier backing of Otto Addo acknowledging that the coach might not be the right fit for the role.
The former Ghana U20 world cup winner player was surprised about the current predicament of the Black Stars team led by coach Otto Addo.
“I apologize, those we advocated for the second coming of Otto Addo, I gave him massive support, but I am sorry. It seems the task is beyond him”.
“Sometimes when you talk about these things, you are tagged as a bad person. If the Black Stars cannot secure victories against teams like Niger, then they do not deserve to compete at the AFCON”.
Since Addo’s return, he has managed just two wins from eight games, Ghana regroups in November for the remaining Afcon qualifier against Angola and Niger hoping for qualification.
