The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has hit Accra Lions FC with a GHS 5,000 fine following a social media post.
This follows after a matchday 16 encounter between Dreams and Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League, which saw unfortunate decisions made by Referee Maxwell Hanson and his team.
Lions expressed their disgust over the performance of the referee at the end of the game, and especially the current state of Ghanaian football.
“The problems of Ghanaian football compressed into a result,” the social media post by Lions read at the end of the game.
The GFA added a warning to the GHS5,000 fine slapped on Accra Lions for “bringing the game into disrepute.”
Access Bank Division One League side Debibi United FC have also been fined GHS4,000, and a warning for the inappropriate behaviour of their supporters.
