Nations Football Club head coach, Kassim Mingle Ocansey, revealed that his club’s tempo in the second half was too much for Legon Cities and proved to be a major difference maker in his team’s win over Legon Cities.

Nations beat Legon Cities 4-1 in the Ghana Premier League at the University of Ghana Stadium to inch closer to winning the 2024-2025 league title.

The win over Legon Cities officially confirmed the team’s relegation from the Ghanaian top flight after five years competing in the division.

Speaking in the post-game interview that was dominated by talk of the fine slapped on Nations FC forward Emmanuel Annor for displaying a religious message, former Bechem United coach Ocansey Mingle pointed to a switch in tempo as a major turning point in the game.

“When we came in the second half, we changed the phase of our game and they-Legon Cities- could not stand the tempo then we took advantage and scored our goals. When we changed [in the second half], we increased the tempo of the game, they couldn’t match it” Ocansey said.

Nations lead the standings (57 points) and hold a point lead over second ranked Bibiani Gold Stars with three games left to play.
