After achieving promotion for the 2014/15 Western Regional Division Two season, the Red Armies have now been relegated 10 years with just one game left to play.

The current standings leaves Coach CK and Co on 24 points with just one game to go, 9 points off Asekem who sit 15th position in the Division One League Zone 2 just above the relegation zone.

The current coach is not solely at fault, the team was struggling before he took over the helm of affairs.

THE BIG PICTURE
It’s been a decade packed with some real highs and lows for Nzema Kotoko as Coach Stephen Botchway helped them to qualify to the Division One League on Sunday October 18, 2015 during his spell at Asanda.

Mallam Yahaya led them to eight position after poor start to the Division One League season under the historic Coach Stephen Botchway.

Three coaches came in for a couple of seasons including Henry Wellington, Seth Hoffman and Prince George Kwofie taking them to a highest ever DOL finished of fourth and third position in 2021/22 and 2023/24 season.

2018/19 NC Special squad

They also made the NC Special Cup Tier 2 final in 2018/19 under Christian Lokko, losing 1-0 to AshantiGold at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

During their stay in the Division One League, star players such as Agyenim Boateng, Akese Akese, Yakubu Hagg, Augustine Frimpong, Amos Kofi Nkrumah and Ransford Tachie Amoah all impressed before securing notable transfers to top Ghana Premier League clubs. Agyennim Boateng Nzema Kotoko’s all time leading top scorer is currently plying his trade with Rwandan club Mukura Victory Club.

Eventually, the Red Armies club struggled to replace their departing stars, although they did an admirable job in player development many seasons.

UGLY FACTS?
Nzema Kotoko suffered two humiliating home defeats which was an unprecedented feat in the history of the club.

The have just 24 points out of the potential 87 points through out the season.

Maxwell Kofi Kumado-led Nzema Kotoko set up is the worst ever squad paraded by the Ampain based club in their entire history.

WHAT NEXT FOR NZEMA KOTOKO
It’s likely that Nzema Kotoko will lose some key sponsors and endorsements this season, while it remains unclear if the Life Patron Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III will be motivated running the club again next season.

LATEST UPDATE:
From a reliable source, new leadership or firm made up of an old management and prominent members will have a dialogue with the board for a possible take over run through the Division Two League.
