Work is scheduled to resume on the controversial Axim Sports complex by this month, Domesticsportsgh.com can exclusively report.
The Axim Sports complex is one of the ten sports complexes constructed by the past administration led by ex president Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo as part of its vision to promote sports in the rural areas.
In an exclusive interview with the Speaker of the Municipal Youth Parliament of Evalue Ajomoro Gwira, Rth. Jonas Kabutey revealed that work will soon resume at the facility.
“Very, very true, calls have been made and soon the contractor will begin work at the Axim Sports complex, he revealed this in an exclusive interview with West End Radio.
“The engineer is in town and contacts has been made through Bismat Construction and very soon work will resume to complete the facility” he added.
Jonas Kabutey, the municipal Youth Parliament speaker of the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira in the Western region, has been the lead advocate of the said controversial sports complex since 2018.
The delay in the completion of the sports complex has by extension affected sports development in Axim and it is a major concern for the youth of the area.
The Axim sports complex if completed is expected to have a FIFA standard pitch, restaurant, ICT lab, Volley ball and Netball courts and few others.
