The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season will be begin on the weekend of September 12, the Ghana Football Association ( GFA) has announced.
The campaign will run for 37 weeks, concluding on the weekend of May 23-24, 2026, to ensure domestic competitions are completed before the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
According to the GFA, the new calendar aligns with the global schedule of football’s governing body FIFA.
The GFA also confirmed that the 2025/26 Congress will take plays on August 12, a month before the season’s official kick off.
Additionally, the main registration window for the new season will open on Monday, June 23, and close on Sunday August 24, 2025, in accordance with GFA regulations.
Newcomers Techiman Eleven Wonders, Hohoe United and Swedru All Blacks will join 15 other clubs including reigning champions Bibiani GoldStars in the elite division.
The early release of the full 2025/26 football calendar is expected to help clubs and stakeholders adequately plan and prepare ahead of the campaign.
