Ghana’s Black Queens continued their build up to the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations ( WAFCON) with a 4-2 win over Benin in a friendly match played on Wednesday evening in Morocco.
The result follows a 3-1 victory over Malawi last Saturday, as the team steps up preparations ahead of the tournament’s start on July 5.
Nina Norshie gave Ghana an early lead in the 4th Minute, but Benin responded quickly and went ahead 2-1 before half time scoring twice, including a 32nd minute strike.
However, a dominant second half performance saw the Black Queens reclaim control, with goals from Alice Kusi, Susan Duah and Chantelle Hlorkah securing the comeback.
Head coach Kim Lars will be encouraged by his side’s resilience as they prepare for a final warm up against rivals Nigeria on June 29.
Ghana is drawn in Group C, alongside South Africa, Mali and Tanzania, for the Continental showpiece in Morocco.
