“Pele stands out among the players I played with,” said new Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
The rivalry back in the good old days never actually mattered between Hearts and Kotoko, according to Didi Dramani, but was between Anthony Yeboah and Abedi Pele before both players left the shores of Ghana.
Didi Dramani recalled a time Anthony Yeboah, who had just joined Okwahu United from Cornerstones, scored for the hilltop club before Pele scored an indescribable equaliser for RTU.
The on-field rivalry between the two phenomenal players stretched from Yeboah’s days at Cornerstone and Pele’s glorious times with his beloved Real Tamale United.
“We learnt a lot from our senior colleagues because they had a lot. Pele had a lot. Pele had so much knowledge about the game.
Resilience—He had it. Mental toughness—He had it,” he said on the “1Top” podcast on YouTube.
Cornerstones, Eleven Wise, and a few other teams in the country could mesmerise the two giant clubs, Hearts and Kotoko, because of the talented players they had. The talents were cut across the country.
