Ghana’s Black Stars are set to play their upcoming international matches at the Accra Sports Stadium, according to Henry Asante Twum, the Ghana Football Association’s communications director.
According to him, the stadium has been approved as the sole venue for the Black Stars’ matches in September and October.
During his appearance on TV3’s Sports Station, Henry Asante Twum, the Ghana Football Association’s communications director, confirmed that the Accra Sports Stadium is the only approved venue for the Black Stars’ matches in September and October.
“At the moment the only approved venue for Black Stars matches is the Accra Sports Stadium. That will host Black Stars games in September and October,” he stated.
This development comes ahead of Ghana’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali and Comoros in the September and October internationals, where the four time AFCON champions will host Mali and the Islanders.
The Black Stars are set to face Mali in a highly anticipated match, following their thrilling 2-1 win over Mali in Bamako earlier in the qualifiers.
Ghana will then be back at the Accra Sports Stadium for the last time in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers where they play Comoros.
After six matches, Ghana currently sits at the summit of Group I with 15 points, three points ahead of second place Comoros.
