Team Ghana wrapped up the two-day competition with 3 gold, 11 silver, and 9 bronze medals, placing behind rivals Nigeria, who topped the medal table with 25 medals and a stronger gold tally.

Speaking after the championship, Fuseini admitted the results fell short of expectations but maintained that the overall showing was encouraging.

“Our performance hasn’t been as high compared to last year. We had very few gold medals – maybe only the discus and two others, giving us three gold in total, which is below our expectation. But generally, the performance wasn’t too bad. Nigeria, for instance, won the 400m gold with 45.46 seconds

CAA Region II Seniors Athletics Championships: “Going forward, we need to rebuild our team again, especially the ladies, because the performance has gone down” – Bawa Fuseini.

Though the Region II Seniors Championships was not a qualifying event, it provided a crucial platform for Ghanaian athletes to test their readiness ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games and other international competitions.
