Asante Kotoko paid a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, Shiek Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, on Tuesday to seek his blessing ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup encounter with Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.
The visit, held in Accra, saw club officials, players, and technical staff meet the reverend Islamic leader, who offered prayers for the team’s success.
Sheik Sharubutu encouraged the porcupine warriors to approach the crucial fixture with unity, discipline, and humility.
Kotoko are set to face Wydad on Sunday on October 19, at the Accra Sports Stadium, following the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) decision not to approve the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi for the match.
Tickets for the game are selling at GHC50.00 for the Porcupine Stand and Central Line and GhC200.00 for the VIP.
The Ghanaian giants head into the encounter unbeaten this season, having advanced to this stage after a 5-3 aggregate win over Kwara United of Nigeria.
However, Wydad-who featured in this year’s FIFA Club World Cup-are expected to provide a stern challenge.
