Nigeria will face Dr Congo in today’s CAF World Cup playoff final in Rabat, with a place in March’s FIFA inter-continental Playoff at stake.
The Super Eagles arrive buoyed by their dramatic 4-1 extra time victory over Gabon in the semi final Akor Adams opened the scoring before Nigeria were forced into added, where Chidera Ejuke restored the lead and Victor Osimhen struck twice to secure progress.
Eric Sekou Chelle’s side, three time African champions, are now 90 minutes away from reaching an inter continental qualifier that offers African a potential 10th slot at the 2026 World Cup.
Victory in Rabat will send the winners into a six-team playoff in March, where two spots at the World Cup will be up for grabs.
Defeat would end the loosing side hopes of reaching Canada, Mexico and United States States next year.
