I joined Real Madrid to replace Claude Makelele- Baba Sule
Former Ghana Black Starlet hero Baba Sule has revealed he joined Real Madrid as a direct replacement for Claude Makelele.
But he never played for Los Blancos as went out on loan to Leganes, then in the second division but he broke his and suffered ill-fortune which made him to retire at the age of 21 in 2006.
According to him Real Madrid saw him as perfect replacement for the dynamic French Midfielder when they bought him in 1999.
” Real Madrid signed me to replace Makelele, he told TV3.
Sule, in 1995 he celebrated his greatest achievement when he scored past a certain Julior Ceasar in the final of the U17 World Cup with the Ghanaian national team, who eventually ended up wining the game and taking home the trophy.
Following his retirement, he has worked as an electrician, David de Gea’s personal driver, before the goalkeeper was eligible for a licence and currently a kit man for segunda Divisio’n B’s CF Fuenlabrada.
