African star suffers heart spasm in training
Senegal international Khouma Babacar was rushed to a health facility on Thursday after collapsing during a training session with his club.
Turkish Super Lig side Alanyaspor have confirmed that striker Khouma Babacar suffered a heart spasm in their pre-season camp in Burdur. Football Italia reported that the 28-year-old was instantly given first aid after crashing to the ground, with his teammates fearing the worst.

Babacar is in the second year of his two-year loan at Alanyaspor from Italian Serie A outfit Sassuolo and impressed in his first season with 12 goals in 28 appearances in the Super Lig.
The Turkish club has since released a statement on the scary incident, saying that the forward has been put under close supervision.
“Our football player Khouma Babacar, who became ill this morning in the Burdur camp, was found to have had a heart spasm as a result of the first examinations made at the Burdur State Hospital,” it read.
“Further examinations and treatment of our football player will be carried out at Private Alanya Anadolu Hospital under the supervision of our Club Doctor Ismail Yetkin. We convey our best wishes to our football player and wish him a speedy recovery.”
Babacar has assured everyone that he is in good condition with a post on Instagram that read: “I’m fine. Thanks, everyone.”
