JUST IN: FIFA respond to alleged new rules
FIFA has issued a statement on the alleged rule changes that have been doing the rounds over the past 24 hours.
On Monday, it was widely reported that FIFA was set to trial five new rules at a youth tournament in the Netherlands called the Future of Football Cup.
The new rules included changes such as an unlimited number of substitutions, “kick-ins” instead of throw-ins, and a five-minute suspension for yellow cards.

However, world football’s governing body has now released a statement via their official website refuting those claims.
“FIFA would like to clarify the erroneous reports circulating in the media in recent days regarding FIFA’s alleged intention to trial experimental changes to the Laws of the Game at a youth tournament played in the Netherlands,” the statement read.
“FIFA can confirm that there is currently no intention to trial any of the changes referred to in these reports, and that these changes have not been discussed either internally within FIFA or with our colleagues at The IFAB [International Football Association Board].”
