SAD: Kumasi Cornerstone relegated to Division three
Cornerstone have been relegated to the Division three of Ghana League with a match to end the campaign.
The former powerhouse have been relegated from the Ghanaian third tier League, which is the National Division Two League to the National Division Three League following their 1-1 draw away against Prof Quarm in the matchday 13 on Thursday.
Cornerstone are currently at the bottom of the Zone five standings with 8 points, four points behind 7th place team with a match to end the campaign.
A powerhouse in Ghana Football in the 1970s and 80s, Corners succeeded in unearthing many great Ghanaian talents including Razak Golden boy, Stephen Frimpong Manso, Emmanuel Amoah and Sampson Appiah among orders.
The club won the West African Football Union ( WAFU) Cup in 1987 and had since their relegation to the First Division in the latter part of the 1990s, found it difficult to stage a comeback to the premiership.
They suffered relegation to the Division two League in 2016 due to poor managements.
Five years later the club has suffer another demotion to the fourth tier League after winning just a game in 13 matches.
It is really pathetic to see former giants of the Ghana league go further down to the fourth tier.
