Al Ahly celebrated their historic Al Ashra achievement in a remarkable spectacle at their iconic El Tetsh Stadium on Tuesday evening.
After a gruelling 2020/22 campaign, Pitso Mosimane and his squad were finally able to celebrate their record tenth-star achievement after beating Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Champions League final back in July.
The Red Devils beat the South African giants 3-0 in Morocco and to celebrate the milestone, they hosted a prestigious ceremony attended by club legends, former and current board members and high-profile sporting figures.
The club not only honoured Mosimane and his squad on the evening but also former player Moamen Zakaria, who was forced into retirement last year after being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Zakaria has not played a match for Ahly since 2018 due to the rare neurological disease but has been included within their journey with the back-to-back African champions league titles dedicated to him.
The Club of the Century will have the chance to secure silverware in the first game of their 2021/22 campaign when they face El-Gaish in the Egypt Super Cup on Tuesday, 21 September.
