Daniel Amartey scored his first goal of the season to rescue Leicester City from defeat against Spartak Moscow in the Uefa Europa League.
The central defender headed home from close-range to cancel out Victor Moses’ earlier header at the King Power Stadium Thursday night to end the game 1-1.
After a goalless first half in the Group C clash, Nigeria’s Moses popped home a fine header inside the box to give the Russian club the lead in the 51st minute.
Amartey turned home Ayoze Perez’s flicked header from a corner seven minutes later to draw Brendan Rodgers’ side level.
The hosts got a lot of chances afterward to have scored a winner, including a saved Jamie Vardy penalty, but none was utilized.
This was Daniel Amartey’s third game in this season’s Uefa Europa League. Leicester City are third in the group with 5 points behind Napoli and Legia Warsaw.
