Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum says victory against Bechem United in matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League is good for him despite coming from the dying embers of the game.
The Porcupine Warriors returns to the Baba Yara over a year with a comfortable 2-0 win over the hunters on Sunday.
Captain Abdul Ganiyu scored from the spot before Samuel Boateng head home the second goal to seal the victory on home side.
It was Kotoko first game at the favorite grounds in the league.
Speaking after the game, the former WAFA coach said, “It was a very good game and victory against Bechem United is good for me because if you look at how tactical the game was, they were very defensively organized and because of that they didn’t allow us to play those penetrative passes and it was difficult for us to actually get the ball behind their defense”he told Eli Kondo of Startimes TV.
The 24 times Ghana League Champions seems to be leaving it late after two games, however, Prosper Narteh reacting to it said, “We still keep to our game plan and we always trust in our process even when it is difficult we trust that we can still score so no matter the situation we don’t change our style. We keep to the shape, game plan and keep to the principles involved in the game plan” he said.
Asante Kotoko have won all points from the first two games of the Ghana Premier League and will hope to maintain their good start to the season and hope to win the league for the first time since 2015.
