Ghana Football Association EXCO Committee member, Samuel Anim Addo has pleaded with the Ghana government to release some funds to finish Baba Yara Stadium on time for Ghana’s World Cup playoff clash with Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Ghana had been set to host the Nigerians at the Cape Coast Stadium but the away team complained about the state of the facility prompting CAF to move the match to Kumasi.
However, this decision is anchored on the fulfillment of certain criteria by Ghana to ensure that the stadium is up to standard for the game.
In total CAF gave eight conditions for the use of the Baba Yara Stadium for the game, However the Samuel Anim Addo has pleaded with the Ghana government to release funds for the completion of these standards to enable Ghana get the final green light to host Nigeria at the Stadium.

Ghana will play Nigeria in the 1st leg on Friday 25, 2022 at 19:30 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
