With Ghana having secured a spot at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the African giants could be set for another boost as three English stars could reportedly switch nationalities and represent them at the showpiece.

The Black Stars are set to take part in another World Cup later this year, and could have a number of reinforcements by the time the tournament gets underway in November.

Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has long been linked with a switch from England to the African nation, and is said to have held a meeting with the new technical advisor of the West African nation, Chris Hughton, earlier this year.

According to Goal, the 21-year-old, who last played for England in November 2019, may finally be convinced to switch his allegiance now that Otto Addo’s men have booked their spot in Qatar, and this may also be the case for Brighton & Hove Albion star Tariq Lamptey.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) communications director Henry Asante Twum has admitted they are keen on recruiting the Premier League duo.

“If it is that we wake up tomorrow and the new coach of the Black Stars wants Tariq, Hudson-Odoi, whoever is available, we will look at the regulations and the possibility of getting them. If it is within our reach, we pursue it,” Twum told Citi TV.

“The new law for nationality switch is that you should be three years from your last game [from the association you want to switch from], so it means that if today, Hudson-Odoi played for England three years ago, we will look at the month [in which] he played, and if it is exactly two years, he has every right to switch nationality.”
