Kotoku Royals have secured promotion to the Ghanaian top-flight for the first time in 19 years after the club was founded.
Kotoku Royals, the club founded in 2003 and earned promotion to play in Division One League three years later, draw Tema Youth on Sunday to seal their historic qualification to Ghana’s top-flight.
The Akyem-based club made a long trip to Harbour City to draw Tema Youth 0-0 in Zone 3 clash.
The final whistle was greeted with celebrations from the playing body, management and fans as the ambitious club based in Akyem Oda joined Samartex FC as promoted clubs.
Kotoku Royals promotion means Eastern Region will have two clubs in the league next season.
Their close contenders Liberty Professionals drew againts Susubribi and that results was enough for the Royals to top the league table with 63 points after 30 games.
