Diego Simeone outlines two solution to fill Partey’s void.
Thomas Partey may miss Atlectico Madrid’s champions league game against RB Liepzig due to a muscle injury and Diego Simeone has begun contemplating his alternatives to fill the gab in midfield.
The Argentine will use Hector Herrera alongside Saul Niquez with Koke on the left-hand side and either Angel Correa or Marcos Llorenta on the right.
Simeone’s alternative is to play Saul and Koke in the centre with Correa or Llorente on the right wing.
This formation will be more attacking than usual as one of Yannick,Carrasco,Vitolo or Thomas Lemar will play on the left side.
Partey,who is third in terms of most minutes played this season for Los Rojiblancos,was absent in Atlectico’s defeat at the hands of Juventus that led to their elimination in the champions league back in 2018/19.
