The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has initiated an investigation into two matches that finished with bizarre 95-0 and 91-1 scorelines in the country’s first division recently.

The two results – Gulf FC defeated Koquima Lebanon 91-1 and Kahula Rangers thrashed Lumbenbu United 95-0 – have come into the spotlight as the SLFA has deemed them to be “impractical”.

Now, an investigation into all the players and officials involved in the two fixtures has been launched, with match-fixing suspected, according to The Athletic

Here are nine clubs that were expelled by their respective leagues.

“In compliance with FIFA and CAF rules against match manipulation or anything of sort, SLFA maintains zero tolerance,” a statement from Sierra Leone’s football governing body read.

“The general public is therefore assured that the said matter will be thoroughly investigated and anyone found culpable will face the full force of the law.”

It reported that if the results in question are confirmed, they will rank among the highest recorded scorelines in football history.

The current highest is understood to be a 149-0 win for AS Adema over SO l’Emyrne in Madagascar in 2002.

In that fixture, the latter are understood to have intentionally scored own goals in protest of refereeing decisions they disagreed with.
