The quest to pick the available slots for the 2022-2023 Women’s Premier League has begun in earnest at the two centres hosting the Women’s Zonal Championships.
After Match Day Two in the Southern zone played at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, Essiam Socrates Ladies lead the six-team log with six points, having won their games against Hassport Ladies of Kasoa (2-0) and Anlo Ladies (3-1).
Ridge City Ladies beat Hassport Ladies 4-0 to increase their points to four after drawing their opening game against Rootz Sisters.
Rootz Sisters also beat Blessed Ladies 2-1 in matchday on Monday.
The win notwithstanding, Rootz are at the moment third ahead of Anlo Ladies and Blessed Ladies in the standings.

The competition will select two teams to play in the upcoming season’s WPL for Southern zone.
Match day three fixtures will be played on Wednesday at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
