Most Populous Islamic Community in Ellembelle, Kamgbunli were crowned champions of the maiden edition of Ramadan Cup after winning 3-2 on penalties against Teleku Bokazo.

The 8-team tournament which is first in its kind took place at Azuleloanu SDA Park on Saturday.

Kambumgli, Azuleloanu, Esiama, Alabokazo, Aiyinase, Asasetre, Awiebo and Teleku Bokazo battled for supremacy in the Ellembelle Ramadan Cup.

The tournament which was powered and sponsored by noble Politician and Businessman Hon.Bonzoh Ewereko saw Kamgbunli dominate from beginning to the end.

As a result, Kambumgli received a cash prize of Ghc500.00, a giant trophy, medals for wining the maiden competition.

Esiama defeated Aiyinase on penalties to finish third as Teleku Bokazo ended up as runners up.

Bonzoh Ewereko believes the maiden edition was great and look forward to improve it by next edition.

” The maiden edition has been thrilling, if you look at the support we received from people of Azuleloanu, the Chief and his elders, we realized we have to take this competition to another level hopeful next edition” he told GTV after during the final presentation.

“This tournament seeks to become a vehicle to help promote talents in Ellembelle” he added.

The Ramadan Cup is expected to continue growing with next edition looking likely to be expanded to 16 communities.
