The Black Stars midfielder was in excellent form earlier in the season, helping Arsenal to an eight-point advantage over Manchester City a few weeks ago.

However, he has been far from his best in recent weeks, allowing Manchester City to overtake Arsenal on the table following a number of poor results.

As a result, The Ghana international has seen his starting spot taken away by Jorginho in the past three games including their recent defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

Gary Neville acknowledges Partey’s influence on the Gunners but believes his recent performance has harmed the title chances of Arsenal.

Arsenal lose to Brighton to leave Man City on brink
“He’s been in a shadow of himself in the last few weeks, Partey,” said Neville to Metro Sport, UK.

“He has been nowhere near it. A large part of the season, he has been fantastic.

“His form and composure have deserted him at the most vital time.”

Manchester City are now a win away from winning their third consecutive Premier League title as they play Chelsea in their next fixture.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could be satisfied having already secured a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League after missing out in six seasons.
