Public Relations Officer of Samartex 1996, Pius Abranomah has rubbished reports of a potential match of convenience between Samartex and Medeama SC, stating that Samartex will not be party to anything that will undermine Ghana football.
Medeama who are one win away to win their first Premier League title will be playing as guest of Samartex in the week 33 of the Ghana Premier League but many believe the home team will play it “soft” to aid the Tarkwa based side chances of winning the ultimate.
In an interview with Bismark Darko of Bawdie based Dess FM, Abranomah, indicated that Samartex equally need the points to better their fortunes on the league log, hence they will attach all seriousness to the game.
” We Samartex are going to play quality football, and we will give our best to grab the 3 maximum points”” we are determined to win as well.” He said.
” I believe the pitch will decide but they won’t be any soft match from our side, every win or defeat will be on fair grounds, no Western Region affairs as some people are saying” He added.
” For a long time Ghana Football has been undermined by perceptions of match fixing therefore playing match of convenience will sought to buttress people’s view on that hence Samartex will not be party to any such thing” he revealed.”
Samartex will face off against their Regional brothers on Sunday at the Nseinkyire Sports Arena.
