The 29-year-old attacker moved to Simba last year on a two-year deal after shining in the Ghana Premier League with Bechem United where he notched 17 goals and three assists in that period.

He made an immediate impact, scoring his first goal for Simba during a pre-season friendly against Egyptian side Ismaily SC, but struggled for game time across the season, making just 3 appearances in the CAF Champions League for Simba.

Simba finished second on the log this season in the domestic league with 67 points, behind Young Africans who topped the league table with 74 points.

An official statement from the Club read :

The management of the club officially announces the departure of our attacking midfielder Augustine Okrah after the end of the 2022/23 season.

Ghanaian Okrah has finished his contract with the club and the player will not be extended a new contract.

Okrah joined us at the beginning of this season from Bechem United in his home country of Ghana where he has shown great potential in all the matches he has played.

In the one season, he served in our team, Okrah made a big contribution, playing 17 matches and scoring four goals, and helping to get another one.

Okrah’s departure is a sign of the official start of the neglect of the improvements of our squad towards the next season of competition.

The leadership of the club is determined to make major improvements in the squad starting from the technical bench area by adding more professionals as well as players with great status and quality to serve Simba.

Following his successful stint with Bechem United in the 2014/15 season, Okrah embarked on loan spells with Swedish club BK Hacken before joining Sudanese powerhouse Al Merreikh.

After a season, he made a switch to rivals Al Hilal Omdurman.

Throughout his career, Okrah has also had playing experiences with NorthEast United in India and Smouha SC in Egypt.
