Who should be the most to take care of Football in Ghana?
“Sir Madiba Mandela writes”
Football administrators and clubs in Ghana are always cried for lack of funds and support for their clubs but when will their needs be met?
I ask myself always and will never find an answer because those who needs to help them find remedies seems not to care for them.
Players welfare should be club administrators primary worries because if players live a good life, clubs will gel and the needed result both on and off the field will come for the clubs.
Since the halt of Sports in the country, we’ve seen club owners and administrators cry all the time because their players seems to be in woes, yes, there’s no fund to pay them as the only source to pay players here in Ghana is mostly from the pockets of club owners, meanwhile there aren’t any football activities because of the novel COVID19 pandemic, the reason being clubs would at least get something small (money) from the gate proceedings during match days.
Clubs in Ghana don’t boast of much sponsors, maybe few has got a little help from sponsors.
This is being the core mandate and duty for the heads of football activities and the welfare of footballers in Ghana meanwhile GFA bosses seems to be taking huge sums of money than our “poor footballers”.
I can’t confirm but we’ve heard and per my reliable source some players take 300gh and 400gh($80-100USD) in Ghana football even in the GPL being the top level club football in the country, I ask myself why?
What’s the #PassionWeAreIgniting?
You can’t ignite passion when one isn’t paid well, they are bread-winners for their respective families.
Do we always want to see the poor being poor?
I say this because most of these players are coming from “poor families”.
Ghana football is always preaching what we can’t do.
President Kurt E.S Okraku, having preached about the well-being of Ghana football, talked about ignition of passion and a whole lot can’t be doing this in the start.
Yes, nobody works without being paid but let’s pay those who makes Ghana football an association, that is the footballers.
Ghc12,000 Ghana Cedis and other bonuses for the GFA boss and other Ex-Co members taking those huge money for a re-start of a football association that seems jeopardized isn’t a good step.
Let’s sit up.
I would not want to talk about the European football associations but the players there take much than most FA bosses.
