AFRICA CC: Government to support Kotoko and AshantiGold with $350,000 USD.
The Director of the National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi has revealed that government has allocated some funds to support clubs in the Africa Inter-Competitions this season.
According to the NSA boss, Kotoko and AshantiGold have been notified about the Government mega steps to back them financially as they represent the nation in the continent’s flagship competitions.
“Government will give Asante Kotoko andAshantiGold $200,000 and $150,000 respectively for their qualifications to play in the CAF champions League and Confederations cup competitions.”he told media.
Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold were given the nod to play in Africa after the truncation of the football season due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Kotoko has the slot to play in the CAF champions league whiles AshantiGold plays in the Confederation cup.
