The senior national team is currently in Libya preparing for the second leg of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Falcons, scheduled for Tuesday at 13:00 GMT.

So far, Ghana has struggled in the qualifiers, failing to register a win after three matches.

The Black Stars began their campaign with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Angola, followed by a 1-1 draw against Niger.

The round of three games against Sudan ended in a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium, leaving Otto Addo’s squad in third place in Group F with just two points.

Ahead of the return match at the Martyrs of February Stadium, Asante Twum stated that the team is determined to achieve their first victory in the qualifiers.

“We didn’t get the needed points against Sudan in Accra, but we know what is at stake for us because we know we have to win to ensure we qualify for the AFCON in Morocco,” he said on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

“The players and the technical team are focused on getting the needed points. That is the mission of why we are in Libya. We have to put the first leg behind us,” he added.

The Black Stars are set to conduct their final training session later tonight at the Martyrs of February Stadium before the game.

A win against the Falcons is vital for Ghana to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the tournament next year in Morocco.
