2024/25 Edition: Asante Kotoko leads the list again as Ghana’s most popular club, Holy Stars, Lions the least clubs

Kumasi Asante Kotoko football club has retained its throne as the most popular club with the highest followers, beating arch rivals Hearts of Oak to exceed 1.05m on social media, according to our annual ranking of the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs competing in the 2024/25 season.

Our latest ranking shows Asante Kotoko has a wide range of followers on all social media platforms ( Facebook, X, , Tik tok), surpassing Accra Hearts of Oak ( 963.7k) , Medeama SC (285.5k) , Dreams FC (168.3k), surprisingly, all the clubs in the top 5 now have an added value in excess of (10k), which undoubtedly demonstrates the solid growth of media engagement of the clubs.

Although, the composition of the top 5 has not changed, the order of the clubs has been rearranged.

Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Basake Holy Stars is the club with the least popularity on social media, followed by Young Apostles, Hearts of Lions and Accra Lions.

The Basake based club has the least followers on social media ( 7.95k) with a combined platforms of Tik tok, X and Facebook.
