The GFA said in a statement that the club breached Section 42(6) of the Association’s Premier League Regulations set in 2019.

Medeama SC have been charged with a breach of Section 42(6) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019, following their Ghana Premier League game against Asante Kotoko.

Clubs that stop accredited media personnel from broadcasting games at their home venues are in violation of the GFA league’s regulations.

Section 42(6) of the Association’s Premier League Regulations, 2029, states that:

It is an offence to prevent or seek to prevent authorised by the GFA from filming a match.

If found guilty the club would have to pay a fine not less than GH₵10,000 per Section 42(7) of the GFA Premier League Regulation, 2019.

The statement added that Medeama SC have until Wednesday, January 8, 2025, to respond to the charges.

Meanwhile, the Tarkwa-based have not said anything about the charges but an official statement is expected from the club regarding the incident soon.

Returnee Kwame Opoku scored his second goal to give the Porcupine Warriors the lead in the 43rd minute before the home side restored parity via Kamaradini Mamudu.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw at the Tarkwa TnA stadium.

Medeama SC, with a game in hand, are three points behind Asante Kotoko, who sit sixth on the league log with 28 points.
