He made this known in an exclusive interview on ChannelOne TV’s “The Point of View” while shedding more light on the National Budget he presented to Ghana’s Ninth Parliament in the Fourth Republic on Tuesday, March 12.

Dr. Ato Forson also relayed that the bill for the removal of the Electronic Levy (E-Levy) and the Betting Tax will be laid before the Parliament of Ghana on Thursday, March 13.

“The betting tax is a tax that when you stake betting and you win, a percentage is deducted, 10% is deducted from your winnings. What we are saying we are going to do is to remove that tax” he said on ChannelOne TV and added that

“What we are talking about is the tax on individual winnings; that’s what we are removing so we are removing the one that the incidence falls on the individual but the incidence that falls on the betting companies, like any other company, you have to pay corporate income tax if you make profit that’s what it is.”
