Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars, Akwesi Adu, has expressed strong confidence in the club’s chances of clinching the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title, stating that everything is going according to plan as the season nears its conclusion.
Gold Stars were set to face Nsoatreman FC in a crucial Round 32 fixture this weekend. However, with Nsoatreman suspended from the league, Adu’s side will be awarded three points and three goals by default; a boost that keeps them firmly in the title race.
Speaking exclusively to Channel One TV, Adu said the team remains focused on winning their remaining games, particularly a high-stakes encounter against fellow title challengers Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday, May 25 at 15:00 GMT.
“We are looking forward to the title. We had a shock loss at home against Karela, and while it was disappointing, we understand that setbacks are part of the game. That result gave us the opportunity to pause, reflect, and understand what went wrong” he stated.
Adu praised the response from the technical team, led by head coach Frimpong Manso, following the Karela defeat.
There have been some positive revelations since that match, and we’re confident the technical team will make the necessary adjustments ahead of our next game against Asante Kotoko. If we win all our matches and even if Kotoko do the same; we believe we will still finish ahead.
“Football is full of surprises, but our mission is clear: win every match ahead of us. That’s the only way to remain in contention for the title.”
