Hearts of Oak’s public relations officer Kwame Opare Addo has shut down rumours of Maxwell Konadu taking over as head coach of the club.
A section of the club’s fans are calling for the head of Ivorian gaffer Aboubakar Ouattara after having been unsatisfied with how the team has fared in the 2024—25 season.
The word on the grapevine is that the former Nsoatreman FC head coach Maxwell Konadu, who successfully led them to the 2023—24 MTN FA Cup glory, was seen leaving the commercial office of the Phobians earlier in the week.
However, Mr Opare Addo, in an interview on Max FM’s Sports Pack, poured cold water on talks of Maxwell Konadu becoming the head coach of the Hearts of Oak while Ouattara takes over the technical director role.
“Mr Ouattara still remains the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak. That is it… We are hoping things change next season… We can’t just decide who should go or come. Before you even make changes, you need to do proper analysis and criticism,” Mr Opare Addo shared.
With three games left to the end of the season, Ouattara would be looking to finish higher up the table. The Phobians would take on relegation-threatened Accra Lions in an Accra derby on Friday, May 23, at 4PM.
