This year’s FA Cup Final had Kotoko beat Golden Kick 2-1 at the University of Ghana Stadium to clinch its 10th FA Cup title and secure qualification to next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Though Kotoko’s win came via a controversial penalty kick from two goal hero Kwame Opoku, Kotoko head coach Karim Zito believed that Golden Kick had tired out in the lead up to the winning goal.

For goalkeeper Asare who missed out on the starting lineup for the final, Kotoko didn’t underrate the Access Bank Division One side Golden Kick heading to the game.

“They are a good side and also coming to play us they had the motivation to play us.

We didn’t underrate them as you can see it was a tough game for us but at the end of the day we were also motivated to something for ourselves” Asare said.

Kotoko will play against arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in the President’s Cup on July 6. Scroll down to watch video
