Bofoakwa Tano’s steep decline has reached a new low, as the once-proud Sunyani-based club has been officially relegated to Division Two, following a disappointing 7th-place finish in Zone One B of the 2024/25 Access Bank Division One League.

Just a season ago, Bofoakwa were competing in the Ghana Premier League, but their hopes of a swift return to the top flight have been crushed. The club managed only 28 points from 28 matches, ending the campaign with a -10 goal difference, placing them second from bottom and well adrift of safety.

Bofoakwa began the season with ambition and optimism, aiming for immediate promotion. However, the team struggled to build consistency. A fragile defence combined with an ineffective attack derailed their campaign, particularly during a disastrous second half of the season where results steadily worsened.

At the top end of Zone One B, Techiman Eleven Wonders secured the sole qualification spot with 53 points, while Dormaa Unity and Tano Liberty Youth ended their seasons on a strong note.

For Bofoakwa, however, the outcome is sobering. Their fall from grace is now complete, and the club faces the daunting challenge of rebuilding from Ghana’s third-tier league, a division notorious for its competitiveness and difficulty in securing promotion.
