According to the Municipal Youth Parliament of the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira, the Ghana Football Association through the Regional Football Association has opened up the channels of communication with the authority regarding the availability of the controversial Axim Sports Complex.
According to the report, some of the Regional Football executives came to the facility during the Axim annual Kundum Football Gala to inspect the requirements of the complex.
In an exclusive interview with the youth speaker, Jonas Kabutey, he revealed, he was at the site when the delegates came to inspect the facility during the kundum games.
The move is reportedly in connection with Basake Holy Stars home grounds brouhaha which has pushed the Nzema based club to host their Ghana Premier League games at Samreboi.
” Yes it’s true, I was there and I have been informed by the authority about the issue, the ‘GFA’ people came to the field during our Kundum games, and the delegation was led by Basake Holy Stars owner Simon Ehomah, he even donated two balls for us, so it’s true they have inspected the field but nothing has been settled.
” What I know is that I led the committee to seek for the park for our games, we have finally handed over the uncompleted facility to the contractor ( Obuobi), but we cant say anything much, the contractor and the government has the final say so let’s it take it from here, We will see what to do, Riquelme”, Kabutey told West End Radio on Hard Tackle sports.
‘ it’s possible for Holy Stars to use the facility, the Ghana FA or RFA don’t have the final say even us, the contractor and the state has the vitol power, we can only demonstrate reasonably ” he added.
Axim sports complex is one of the ten sports complexes constructed by the past administration led by ex-president Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo as part of its vision to promote sports.
