Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah has confirmed that he has not engaged in any talks with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over a potential switch to the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Arsenal forward remains eligible to change his national allegiance under FIFA rules.
The GFA has been proactive in courting diaspora talent, including Chelsea’s Joshua Acheampong and Nottingham Forest’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, as part of its preparations for the global tournament.
Speaking to BBC Africa, Nketiah said: “I haven’t had any calls or anything recently.
“My focus has been on playing well each week and helping my team win trophies. If I’m doing well and doing the right things, then naturally the international future will resolve itself when it’s time to make that decision,” he added.
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has suggested that several players who previously declined Ghana’s invitation are now reconsidering their options ahead of the World Cup.
Born in London to Ghanaian parents, Nketiah has not closed the door on representing the West African nation but insists he is in no rush to make a final choice.
