PSL accede to Sundowns’ request
Premier Soccer League have confirmed to have acceded to a request made to them by Mamelodi Sundowns regarding their match against TS Galaxy this evening.
Sundowns have written to the PSL to have the proposed moment of silence in honour of defender Motjeka Madisha postponed.
The League were ready to observe the customary moment of silence in honour of the 25-year-old, who is believed to have passed on in a car accident in the early hours of Sunday.
However, The Brazilians have yet to confirm the death of their rising star as they await DNA results of the deceased, who were burnt beyond recognition on the scene of the accident.
“Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club has asked the PSL to postpone the observance of a moment of silence in respect of Mr Motjeka Madisha until certain issues have been resolved by the South African Police Services,” read a statement from the PSL on Tuesday.
The reigning league champions are scheduled to face TS Galaxy in a DStv Premiership encounter at Loftus Versfeld Stadium this evening. Kick-off is set for 19h30.
