GPL players to undergo compulsory coronavirus test
Ghana Premier League (GPL) players will undergo a mandatory coronavirus test according to the President of the Ghana Football Association.
Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, together with Ghana FA Medical Team led by Dr Adam Baba, and some management of the FA met the Government Medical Advising Team headed by Dr Nsiah Asare on last Thursday to deliberate on the future of the Sporting Activities within the country.
Mr Kurt E. S Okraku, addressing the government delegation to the meeting at the Accra Sports Stadium on the resumption of sporting activities amid COVID-19 pandemic, appealed to the government to allow clubs to resume training in groups.
He suggested training could be done in groups like five or four which falls within the government directives on social distancing and also called on the leagues to resume behind closed doors according to Prof. Peter Twumasi NSA boss who revealed this on Kumasi Fm.
Professor Peter Twumasi further revealed that the Ghana Football Association president assured the government delegation that players will undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test before every league match ensure that the health of the players is guaranteed and to also help fight the spread of the virus.
