Johnson Smith hints at Asante Kotoko squad reinforcement
Assistant coach of Asante Kotoko Johnson Smith has hinted at squad reinforcement in the ongoing transfer window following their defeat to Elmina Sharks on Friday.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Elmina based club courtesy Alhaji Mustapha strike in matchday 17 of the Ghana Premier League.
With Kotoko’s one transfer market ban lifted by the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee on Wednesday, March 3 the gaffer has disclosed they will be making some additions to the team particularly the attacking department.
Speaking after the game, he said, “The movement of my players was a problem. We have only one striker and we have to beef up our striking department. We can withstand every pressure. This is the league and we must still fight on,”
The second window opened on February 16 and will shut at 11:59 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
